Instrumentation Journeyman Mechanic / Technologist

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be a Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Instrumentation Technologist with relevant industrial, commercial experience. This person must have a continual focus on safety, cost control and client satisfaction when performing the duties of this position, as well as have a history of producing quality work with attention to detail in order to meet and exceed client needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installations of Instrumentation equipment for all types of industry applications
  • Troubleshoot Instrumentation equipment for all types of industry applications
  • Ensure work is carried out with proper safe work practices
  • Work with Supervisor to resolve issues with instrument installations
  • Interpret and work from P&ID’s, electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Instrumentation Technician, Red Seal Qualification is preferred
  • Experience working in a construction or industrial environment is preferred
  • Ability to read P&ID’s, electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints
  • Familiarity with various automation programs and HMI’s. (Floboss, ROC’s, SCADAPak’s etc..)
  • Microsoft 365 / Office skills required
  • Diligent with Safety requirements and programs
  • Experience with QAQC paperwork and material management preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Must have a flexible work schedule – shift work, overtime and weekends and schedule changes are routine and required aspects of the position
  • Must be able to climb ladders

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work at heights and handle 35lb load minimum
